I think of theatre as a sandcastle. Time is the tale told. Bodies get closer to the ground while voices blow their seed and words far and wide and our hands always mould. Vinciane 2008 Born in France in 1968, Vinciane Saelens commenced a professional career with her BA in Theatrical Studies at the University of Aix-en Provence safely in hand. Since then she has collaborated in multiple projects in sectors as varied as radio, film, theatre and acted in diverse theatre productions. For some years she has given a new orientation to her career and finely honed a natural talent for writing. Amongst her latest writing collaborations/projects, we find Cocktail inspired by Crave by Sarah Kane (Opening nights 3 festival Marseilles), Paragraph 176, the unsettling story of two women in love during the Second World War and Les bien assis da vinci, (The well seated da vinci) text mise en pièce 2008. We saw her in Not me by Samuel Beckett (Radiator company) and push up by Schimmel Pfenning (Ma voisine s'appelle Cassandre Company) It's
through my acting craft that I became interested in the gestures of
actors and dramatic art. I participated in, over several years,
seminaries on writing and contemporary dramatic art. I also took part
in several dance workshops and discovered Butoh thanks to different
companies in Marseilles and Toulouse. I found in the density of this
bodily expression a human dimension hitherto unsuspected. |
